I'd look at it this way - if it were me: Most folks don't have to pay anything in to the Court; but, if I did have to pay a few dollars in order to keep everything, I'd figure I was way ahead because You're saving 4 to 5 times the amount of the debt you're wiping out with the debt discharge because of the interest that you'd have to pay on all that debt if it was even possible to pay it off - and most of the time it's not possible to pay it all off anyway!
Wipe out $20,000. and you've actually saved between $80,000. and $100,000.00. Wipe out $100,000. and you've saved between $400,000. and $500,000.00. Multiply all your debt by 4 or 5 and see how much you'll be saving!
And, if you have to pay the court more than a very few dollars, the Court will usually set it up on monthly payments for up to 12 months.
Therefore, You're way ahead! We've done many cases for people who wiped out $40,000.00 to $400,000.00 and for some that wiped out a lot more including one that wiped out over 2.5 million in debt. Let me repeat: That's OVER $2,500,000.00.
